LAVORA Methodology
The LAVORA HomeFit Standard™
The LAVORA HomeFit Standard™ is LAVORA’s editorial methodology for evaluating pet-home products and deciding what deserves a place inside a modern home shared with pets.
The LAVORA HomeFit Standard™ guides every product selection standard, HomeFit evaluation, and LAVORA Index™ shown across our editorial product profiles.
Every LAVORA selection begins with a simple question: does this product support everyday pet ownership while still fitting naturally into the home?
What HomeFit Means
HomeFit describes how well a product belongs inside real home life. LAVORA looks beyond basic function and considers how a product affects daily routines, visual clutter, cleaning, comfort, and long-term usefulness.
The goal is not to hide pet ownership. The goal is to integrate it beautifully, so pet essentials feel intentional rather than disruptive.
LAVORA HomeFit Standard Evaluation Criteria
Every product featured by LAVORA is evaluated using five fixed criteria. These criteria help us keep our product selection consistent, balanced, and transparent across categories.
- Home Integration How naturally the product fits into a modern home, including visual footprint, placement, and overall harmony with shared living spaces.
- Design Quality How well the product appears to be designed, including material choice, finish, proportions, and construction details.
- Everyday Practicality How useful the product is for repeated daily routines, including stability, usability, storage, and real household needs.
- Ease of Maintenance How easy the product is to clean, maintain, and keep presentable without unnecessary effort or specialized care.
- Value How the product compares with similar alternatives in terms of function, design, durability, and overall usefulness for the price.
The HomeFit Method™
LAVORA uses a structured editorial process before a product is added to a collection. This process may include supplier information, manufacturer specifications, material details, customer feedback patterns, market comparisons, and comparable alternatives.
This pet product research supports a balanced pet product evaluation process. It helps us compare curated pet products, understand modern pet home needs, and explain why a product was selected.
- Research We review product specifications, available material information, supplier details, and relevant customer feedback patterns.
- Comparison We compare the product with similar options to understand its practical strengths, trade-offs, and value position.
- Selection Products that fit LAVORA’s pet-home living philosophy may be selected for further editorial evaluation.
- HomeFit Evaluation Each selected product is assessed against the five HomeFit criteria: Home Integration, Design Quality, Everyday Practicality, Ease of Maintenance, and Value.
- LAVORA Index™ The final editorial outcome is expressed through the LAVORA Index™, giving customers a clear summary of the product’s overall HomeFit alignment.
- Transparency We explain why a product was selected, what it may be best for, and what customers should consider before purchasing.
The LAVORA Index™
The LAVORA Index™ is the published editorial outcome of our evaluation. It is not a customer review score, star rating, or AI-generated score.
A higher score means stronger alignment with the LAVORA HomeFit Standard™. It does not mean a product is perfect, and it does not remove the need to consider personal preferences, pet size, space, or use case.

Evaluation Status
Each LAVORA product profile includes an evaluation status so customers understand how the product was reviewed.
- Researched Evaluated using manufacturer specifications, supplier information, material details, available customer feedback patterns, market comparisons, and comparable alternatives. Products marked Researched have not been physically tested by LAVORA.
- Sample Evaluated Physically reviewed or inspected by LAVORA. This status is used only when a product sample has been directly evaluated.
Editorial Independence
LAVORA’s role is editorial selection, product evaluation, and customer guidance. Unless a product is clearly marked as LAVORA-made, products may come from external brands or suppliers.
Our methodology is designed to help customers understand why a product was selected, how it fits modern home life, what to consider before purchasing, and how the evaluation can be trusted.
